What is Calendaring? 

Calendaring is process used for the making films and sheets of plastics. In this calendaring method a mixture of resin, filler, plasticizer and colour pigment is passed between a series of heated rollers.

Rollers squeeze the mixture into shape of the sheet or film. The thickness is controlled by the speed of rollers and gap between rollers. The finished product is cooled by passing between water cooled rolls.

Calendaring is used to manufacture the fabrics, plastic sheets to provide the texture and surface finish. Calendaring is used in paper industry.
