Hi guys another new topic what is Kinematic link, and its types so without wasting of let's start,
Kinematic link its types and examples
What is kinematic link ?
All part of machine which pass through relative to some other part is known as kinematic link.
It is resistant body as assembly of machine connecting other parts of machine with relative motion between them.
A link may consist respective parts, which are rigidly seized on together so they not move corresponding to another.
What are the types of kinematic links?
These are the following types of kinematic links available to transmit motion.
1) Rigid link:-
A rigid link which does not pass through any deformed when transmit motion.
Examples-
Connecting rod, crankshaft, piston etc.
2) Fluid link:-
Is link is one which has fluid inside containers and motion is transmitted through the fluid by compression and pressure.
Examples-
Hydraulic jock, crane, hydraulic brake etc.
3) Flexible link:-
Components that can deform or flex under load
Examples-
Belts, chains, springs, belt drive etc.
4) Lower Pair Links:
Description: Links that allow relative motion through surface contact.
Example: Revolute pairs (pin joints) or sliding pairs (sliding contact).
5) Higher Pair Links:
Description: Links that allow relative motion via point or line contact.
Example: Gear teeth meshing together.
6) Binary Links:
Description: Links that connect two other links.
Example: Connecting rod between a piston and crankshaft in an engine.
7) Ternary Links:
Description: Links that connect three other links.
Example: Steering linkage in a vehicle.
8) Quaternary Links:
Description: Links that connect four other links.
Example: Complex mechanisms like a robotic arm with multiple joints.
In this lecture we study Kinematic link and its types and examples so hope you can understand best.
