Flow through Syphon pipe


 A siphon pipe transfers liquid from a higher to lower level using gravity. Liquid flows due to pressure difference created by difference in liquid levels. Once primed, it maintains flow until the source level drops below the destination. Factors like pipe design and liquid properties affect efficiency. Syphon is long bent pipe used to transfer water from reservoir at one point to another point.

 Some cases it is higher elevation to another elevation at lower level.

 In sketch the point C is higher level position called as summit.

As the point C above the free surface of water in tank A, pressure at C will less than atmospheric pressure. 


Uses:-

1. To transfer water from tank which is not have any outlet.

2. To Carry liquid from higher level to the lower level separate by ridge.


Applications Of Syphon Pipes
